We all know how hot is the weather in Malaysia, and we can get free air-con at Genting Highlands! If you feel like having a spontaneous trip to Genting Highlands, but the long-awaited 20th Century Fox World is not yet opened, here is what you can do:
1. Cable Car
As the Genting Skyway is now closed, there’s only one choice for cable car—Awana Skyway. Their cable cars are clean and spacious, so you can definitely enjoy the view with ease.
Also, you can avoid long queues by using the self-service kiosks prepared to buy tickets.
Along the way, you would see loads of greens and tiny streams from atop, although it can be a bit hot under the sun during the day.
2. Durian Ice-cream
Ice-creams are the best in cold weathers, and this durian ice-cream in Genting is the best-est! Okay, I might be exaggerating, but the authentic taste of durian in this stall has really left a deep impression.
Besides that, this stall, which is located in the outdoors in the garden outside the First World Hotel, sells real durians. This means that durians can be enjoyed with the calming breeze blowing in your face.
3. Snow World
If the weather is not cold enough for you, join the Snow World. The tickets are a bit pricey, but it’s snow in Malaysia so…¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Inside the freezing icy Snow World, they have a cute igloo and also the incredible slide where you sit on a float and experience ‘ sledging’ in winter.
Also known as the Theatre of Lights and Sound, SkySymphony in SkyAvenue Shopping Mall provides an immersive LED experience by using winch balls and massive screens installed.
These sporadic performances can be seen every 2 hours from 10 am – 6 pm and hourly from 6 pm till midnight.
Of course, there are other places like butterfly farm, temple, and casinos, but if you’re aiming for a chill one-day-trip, these are the suggestions that you can go for. Have fun!
